In late spring and early summer take in the glorious display of flowering Azaleas and Rhodedendrons and watch for the nesting pied flycatchers and returning house-martins

Kilsby Cottage is a cosy winter retreat with plenty to see and enjoy at this quieter time of year. Occasional short-lived snowfall adds that extra bit of excitement and a unique view of the local landscape
Kilsby Cottage is situated in the heart of red kite country with these magnificant birds often seen as you travel to and from the cottage or in the valley below. Mid Wales was the last stronghold of this much persecuted carrion-feeder before a huge succesful conservation effort resulted in re-introductions across England and Wales

Self-Catering Cottage with Spectacular Views

Kilsby is located close to Llanwrtyd Wells in the midst of one of the last remaining truly unspoilt areas of the UK. Kilsby Cottage provides high standard, comfortable self-catering accommodation for 4 people. A travel-cot and/or fold-up bed can be provided for additional children or a 5th adult. At just over a mile away the town's welcoming pubs and restaurants are within easy walking distance but with no light pollution you'll need a torch for the walk back after dark when on a clear night you'll get a magnificent view of the night sky.

Set on a hillside overlooking the Irfon Valley in mid Wales the views from all the rooms in the holiday cottage are breathtaking. The cottage is adjacent to Kilsby House which is set in 2.5 acres of gardens and woodland. Safe off-road parking at Kilsby gives you peace of mind while you walk the hills or fish the river.

This area of Mid Wales is a haven for wildlife and offers wild brown trout, grayling and coarse fishing on local rivers, streams and upland lakes with the chance of a salmon later in the year. Many bird varieties including Yellow-hammers, Redstarts, Pied Fly-catchers, Garden Warblers and Spotted Fly-catchers nest here and frequent our feeders in the garden close to Kilsby Cottage. Kilsby Cottage guests have access to our extensive gardens with mature planting providing a stunning variety of shape, form and colour all year round.

New bedroom and living-room carpets were fitted and the living-room / kitchen area was re-decorated in January 2016. This continues our policy of upgrading facilities annually.
